Yes, you can quit cold turkey. This won't cost you anything and is very effective. In 72 hours nicotine will be out of your system and the cravings will lesson each day. There is no pain involved in withdrawal, just an empty feeling which does go away. In fact, some people have no withdrawal symptoms. Just don't smoke!
Free from smoking almost 7 weeks ....after smoking 44 years and up to 3 packs a day.

It's not that easy for everyone. Some of us even like to smoke.
I have tried quitting so many times I quit quitting. I have been using TarX to greatly reduce my nicotine and tar intake. It's helping me quite a bit. At least, while I still smoke I am reducing some toxins.
@anonymous: It's a shame that one must feel we need to "finance" other forms of nicotine delivery to quit. Maybe it would help you to replace one habit with another (good one). Sometimes it's about keeping our hands and minds busy. Getting support from loved ones is important as well. Maybe call someone instead of smoking that cig.
It wasn't, and isn't easy. I love smoking too! Going to check into this Tarx you speak of.....thank you. Every morning I wake up thanking God because without Him, quitting wouldn't have been possible.
These very expensive NRTs burn my butt...:):)

That's just it... we love it... after dinner, the first one in the morning with your coffee, etc. That's what makes it just as hard to quit as the nicotine.
The TarX are cigarette filters. They made a big difference for me, since I still smoke. It's always encouraging to see that some of us make it. :)
There are more ex-smokers than current smokers....take heart...millions of people have successfully quit. The first couple weeks people tend to be grouchy because they feel an emptiness. Those empty feelings do pass, they really do.
