After more than a decade of informing and mobilizing support for smokefree
laws and other public health policies to reduce smoking, the Smokefree.net
listserver (which distributes these e-mails) will be closing shortly.
If you would like to continue receiving e-mails from me (until the 10,000+
e-mail addresses on this list are transferred to another listserver),
simply send a reply to this e-mail with the word "yes" typed in the subject
line.
I congratulate and thank Mike Tacelosky (Tac) for volunteering his time and
resources (software wizardry and finances) creating, maintaining and
providing the Smokefree.net listserver as a free tool for grassroots
smokefree activists to mobilize support for the enactment of local and
state smokefree workplace laws throughout the US. Tac is one of the most
important heroes in the public health campaign for smokefree indoor air.
Without Tac and Smokefree.net, it is doubtful that two dozen states and
hundreds of municipalities would have comprehensive smokefree laws today.
Tac also served as co-chair of the Washington DC Smokefree Coalition, which
mobilized support for the enactment of DC's smokefree workplace ordinance..
