Dear Smokefree Supporters,
So, how do you like it so far? Have you gone out yet and enjoyed the
clean air? We've been hearing stories from many people -- and they are
all good. Even smokers have been telling us that they're okay with the
law (and yes, having 60-plus degree weather last weekend made it easier
for many smokers to adjust!).
The media tend to focus on the handful of smokers who don't like the law
(although they tend to find them inside DC's smokefree places). So we
have created a place where people who like the law can tell their
stories - a new blog called "Smokefree Stories" at

Tell us your story! Your name is optional, but please at least put your
first name and last initial, plus your neighborhood if you live in DC
(e.g. Angela B, Cleveland Park). If you work in a bar or restaurant
and are open to talking with the press about the new law, please contact
Angela Bradbery (angela@smokefreedc.org <mailto:angela@smokefreedc.org>
). We're continually amazed at how the press like to quote some barfly
who claims his rights are being infringed upon but rarely quote
restaurant and bar staff, who have the most to gain by the new law.
