The College of Charleston will be sponsoring a FREE nicotine cessation
program, open to the public, on Wednesday, January 21, 2004, from
7-9pm. It will be held on the college campus in Sottile Theatre which
is located on the corner of King and George Streets. Those who are
unfamiliar with the campus can access a map via the following web
address: http://www.cofc.edu/about/map.html (Sottile Theatre is #23).
The session will provide participants with the basic dependency and
cessation information needed to quit any tobacco product.
Participants will also be offered continued support in the form of
follow-up calls and/or an on-going support group for up to six months
after completing the session. John Polito, founder of WhyQuit.com and
co-founder of the Freedom From Tobacco program, will be leading the
presentation. This is an abrupt cessation nicotine-free clinic (no
nicotine replacement products), with or without bupropion
(Zyban/Wellbutrin), designed to help tobacco users learn how to quit
“cold turkey.”
The session will be limited to 500 participants on a first-come,
first-serve basis. Our intent is to provide participants with the
tools they will need to successfully quit using tobacco products. We
will even have lots of cool door prizes and giveaways: all the more
reason to take advantage of this opportunity to quit!
For more information, please call Laura Lindroth, Health Educator at
the College of Charleston, at (843) 442-5522.
Please pass this information on to anyone you feel would be
interested. Again, the session is 100% free, and open to anyone who
would like to attend.
Warm regards,
Laura

Aside from the door prizes mentioned above by Laura, up to 500 smokers
will receive buy-one-get-one-free tickets to the South Carolina
Aquarium, Boone Hall Plantation and Drayton Hall Plantation, a $40.50
value. Yes, $20 in value per hour for simply taking a whirlwind tour
of the amazing world of nicotine dependency recovery. What do you have
to lose? No one will ask you to quit as this program isn't
necessarily designed for quitters but to prepare you now to succeed
once you do decide to begin that next quest for freedom.
We'll make one promise. You may not quit right away but we guarantee
that you'll leave with a roadmap to recovery and you that you'll never
ever look at smoking the same again.
Breathe deep, hug hard, live long,
John
